2021 Chrysler Grand Caravan SE or SXT: Which Trim Works Best

The 2021 Chrysler Grand Caravan is the new replacement for the Dodge Grand Caravan. Its design results from Chrysler's goal to compare the previous top-selling Dodge Grand Caravans and the Chrysler Pacifica, which will get its new design for this year's model. The Chrysler rand Caravan comes in two trims: the SE and the SXT.

The powertrain and drivetrain remain the same for both trims as it's a transplant from the Chrysler Pacifica. The engine is still the 3.6-litre V6 that produces 287 horsepower. It sends power through the fuel-efficient nine-speed automatic to spin only the front wheels and consumes 10.7 litres per 100 kilometres. The 2021 Chrysler Grand Caravan is lighter than the Pacifica, which should make it even faster. Especially for a minivan, it should have no trouble getting up to highway speeds on time. The tuned suspension makes for a very smooth and comfortable ride as well.

The 2021 Chrysler Grand Caravan SE trim differs from the SXT in exterior and interior design and amenities. On the outside, the SE comes with 17-inch steel wheels, black door handles, and a black front grille. The interior includes a manually positioned driver seat, a removable bench seat, and both trims include a 40-60 split third row with a Stow n'Go and a fold-in floor. The centre console has dual-zone AC control, a reversing camera, and Uconnect4 multimedia with a 7-inch touchscreen display and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The new Grand Caravan also features an electric heated rear-view mirror, a 3.5-inch vehicle diagnostics display, a push-to-start button, and a rotary E-Shift dial shifter. The SE also offers several optional packages, including tri-zone AC, a Key sense programmable key fob, the SafetyTec Group, and a black Stow N'Place roof rack. The higher status of the 2021 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT stands out with its 17-inch Tech Silver aluminum wheels. It also has active grille shutters, and body-colour door handles. The interior comprises a powered eight-way adjustable driver seat, front and rear floor mats, removable quad seats and in-floor storage bins for the second row, the third row with 40-60 split seating and a Stow n'Go with a fold-in floor. Besides the SE's features, the SXT trim also offers tri-zone AC, a cargo compartment light, an interior observation mirror, ambient overhead LED surround lighting, and a steering wheel-mounted audio control console by default. The optional packages include a Keysense programmable key fob, Stow N'Go bucket seats for the second row, eight-passenger seating, and a black Stow N'Place roof rack. You can also find a rear-seat overhead DVD system, SiriusXM radio, trailer towing, and the Cold Weather, SafetyTec, and Power Groups.
